WASHINGTON, May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The National Association of Specialty Health Organizations (NASHO) will meet with key representatives in Washington, D.C. today to deliver and discuss a White Paper on chiropractic care developed by NASHO’s Chiropractic Council. The paper details the value of chiropractic care and the vital role that chiropractic care networks play in the delivery of that care. The paper may be viewed in its entirety on the NASHO website, .
Led by NASHO Executive Director Julian Roberts and Chiropractic Council Chairwoman Tabatha Erck, MPA – CEO of ChiroCare of Minnesota, Council members R. Lloyd Friesen, DC – Vice President of Public Affairs at American Specialty Health, Mark Zygaj – Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Palladian Health and Jamie Sewell – Director of Sales & Marketing for The CHP Group are scheduled to meet today with key personnel in the Congressional Offices of Senator Al Franken (D-MN), Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA).
Noting cost effectiveness, specialized quality of treatment, successful outcomes and high patient satisfaction rates, the Council established that chiropractic care meets the goals and standards of the Affordable Care Act. Additionally, chiropractic care effectively treats low back pain – the leading cause of partial disability among middle-aged Americans – and significantly reduces its recurrence rate without the use of expensive, addictive narcotics or invasive surgical procedures. Approximately 22 million people in the U.S. visit a chiropractor annually, a number that continues to rise each year.
