Carrollton police arrested Scott Tan Viet Lai on June 14. Lai is a chiropractor at SSC Chiropractic in the 1200 block of North Josey Lane. The alleged attack happen on June 11th, thats when, an emergency room nurse at Baylor Medical Center of Carrollton contacted police. According to anarrest warrant affidavit officers arrived and found a woman who said Lai had assaulted her. The alleged victim explained that she had hurt her back and neck in a car crash. She said she was hoping to find a Vietnamese healthcare worker and was referred to Lai. The woman said she had been to Lais office on two other occasions, but during this appointment when the two entered the business Lai closed and locked toronto chiropractor the main door behind them. Once inside the woman said Lai began treatment and at one point asked her take off her clothes but she refused. At some point Lai allegedly told the woman he need to rub her lower back and that she need to pull her shorts down. The woman said when she rolled over onto her stomach Lai grabbed her shorts and pulled them off saying he needed to get to the tail bone area. The woman told police Lai then put his hands on the lower part of her body and began touching her inappropriately. He allegedly told the woman her tail bone which was at a wrong angle and he need to continue to apply pressure. While continuing to touch her the woman said the chiropractor then whispered in her ear, Do you want me to help you relax? The patient said she jumped up and told Lai she didnt think was he was doing was appropriate. According to the affidavit, Lai told the woman said she should have known what the procedure would entail. The woman told police she afraid Lai would hurt or even kill her, so she tried not to appear upset or angry.

Chiropractor Scott Tan Viet Lai, who was arrested Friday, is accused of assaulting a female patient during a June 11 office visit. According to a redacted arrest affidavit released Monday, the woman arrived massage therapy north york at Lai’s office for her third appointment after a car crash. She had been seeing Lai for back and neck pains. When she arrived, she met the doctor in the parking lot, and the two walked into the office together at about 11 a.m. The woman told police that she noticed Lai locked the door behind them after they entered and thought it was unusual. During the exam, Lai requested she wear a gown, but she refused, according to the affidavit. During the treatment, he began massaging her back and said he needed to pull her shorts down to provide treatment to a problem area. In the affidavit, the woman said she started to feel uncomfortable but complied because she trusted the doctor.
