For example, nerve impingements from spinal misalignments can cause incorrect signals to be sent to the major organs, immune system or endocrine system, causing a cascade of problems.” Improper nutrition, he adds, has a similarly global effect on an individual’s well-being by introducing toxins, creating inflammation, providing inadequate vitamins and minerals for correct http://bayviewwellness.com/adjustments/ function, or even causing obesity. “Any of these detrimental effects can interfere with the body’s ability to heal itself or remain well,” Dr. Freund notes. “This can limit the effectiveness of chiropractic care or any other natural therapies we might prescribe to help someone overcome illness or injury.” Dr. Freund and his team frequently recommend nutritional and dietary changes to patients who are simultaneously undergoing other forms of treatment for a particular pain or ailment. The chiropractor states that many patients need to switch from a diet comprised of highly processed, starchy foods of limited nutritional value to one emphasizing natural, organic foods and plenty of water. “A diet offering the right balance of fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, dietary fiber and certain fatty acids will definitely have a positive impact on practically anyone’s health,” says Dr. Freund. “By supplying the body with what it needs to function normally, our patients can enhance the benefits they receive from other holistic treatments.” He adds that his staff can recommend nutritional changes that target specific illnesses — notably hormonal issues common in women such as pre-menstrual syndrome or dysmenorrhea. “Good nutrition is quite literally good medicine,” says the Lindenhurst chiropractor . “It is also something that patients can do for themselves to take the reins on their wellness. We aim to give them the knowledge and guidance they need to take greater responsibility for their condition and enjoy more control over their quality of life.” In addition to nutritional counseling , Natural Care Chiropractic provides chiropractic care, myofascial release, physical therapy and drug-free pain management techniques for Lindenhurst patients. http://bayviewwellness.com/adjustments/ Contact: Chart Your most recently viewed tickers will automatically show up here if you type a ticker in the “Enter symbol/company” at the bottom of this module.

And it turns out they are also much less effective than harmless natural treatments. A new study shows that simple remedies like chiropractic treatments and home exercises relieve sub-acute neck pain better than pharmaceutical drugs – and without all the negative side effects. Dangerous painkillers can (and should) be avoided It’s estimated that 75 percent of Americans deal with neck pain at some point in their lives. Neck pain accounts for millions of trips to the doctor every year. The pain can be acute and severe enough to interfere with our everyday lives, but modern medicine offers little help. At best, you get over-the-counter pain relievers or narcotic drugs, all of which come with dangerous side effects and are often not effective enough to get rid of pain. A new study published on January 3, 2012 in The Annals of Internal Medicine demonstrates the power of alternative therapies for neck pain. Participants in the study were divided into three groups: one group made regular visits to the chiropractor, one group received traditional drug therapy, and the third group was instructed on how to perform therapeutic exercises at home to combat their neck pain. At the end of 12 weeks, it was clear participants who engaged in non-drug therapy fared better than those who received painkillers. In the chiropractic group, 57 percent of individuals reported at least a 75 percent reduction in pain. In the home exercise group, 48 percent reported similar pain relief. However, only 33 percent of the painkiller group saw such results.

He further admitted he operated Private Chiropractic Care clinic as a front to allow fraudulent chiropractic bills to be created for treatments that were never performed and then used as support for fraudulent settlement demand letters sent to auto insurance companies. During the course of the conspiracy, Young received checks and cash from the firm totaling approximately $112,000. Once represented by the firm, clients were sent to Private Chiropractic to be evaluated by chiropractor and co-defendant Chase Lindsey, 34. Lindsey pleaded guilty earlier this year, admitting he entered into an agreement with the office manager of that same law firm. Lindsey agreed to provide medical evaluations of and recommend treatment for those patients in exchange for $2,000 in cash per month, which totaled approximately $58,000 during the course of the conspiracy. Lindsey routinely prescribed medically unnecessary treatment which was provided, if at all, by unlicensed, untrained, and unqualified individuals and never supervised the treatments allegedly administered by these unqualified individuals. Lindsey always prescribed the same six treatments, but the patients usually received only twoice/heat packs and electric stimulation. Lindsey prescribed the treatments be done three to four times per week for five to six weeks, but the patients usually went once a week for three to four weeks. Young knew the patients were not receiving most of the treatments prescribed and that they were not going for treatments on many of the days reflected on the Private Chiropractic Care bills. Young knew the false Private Chiropractic Care billing was prepared at the law firm and that the fraudulent bills were used as support for settlement demand letters sent to auto insurance companies. The fraudulent demand letters caused the insurance companies to issue settlement checks, which were spilt between Young and others. Young also participated in the scheme to defraud the insurance companies as an accident client of the law firm.

Many people wondered why we didnt buy the cheaper one, but I wanted the best in the market for my patients. Yu said his patients comfort was foremost in his mind when he designed the layout of the facility, including the placement of a waiting area in the center of the clinic. Continued… See Full Story This is not something you usually see at a chiropractors office, Yu said. The second waiting area will give patients extra seating and a place to rest in between their therapies. The office is also designed with many rooms, allowing each patient to have a private treatment session. I could have made another treatment room, but I set this area up for the patient, not for me. Yu became fascinated with the curative potential of chiropractic while back in his native South Korea, after a U.S. practitioner of the 118-year-old form of alternative medicine relieved him of his chronic back pain. He made the decision to head for Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa after finishing up his undergraduate studies at home, refining his knowledge of biomechanics and kinesiology at the University of Texas at Austin. Biomechanics, the science of movement of the human body, including how muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments work together, is the focus of Yus approach when treating patients, he said. The patient has his own ability to recover. My job is to help him to improve his function. The initial consultation is always free, Yu pointed out. Its during that consultation that I decided if I can help the patient or need to refer him to a medical doctor. Some patients are not chiropractic candidates.
