The annual campaign has helped to bring chiropractic awareness to children and supports an internationally recognized nonprofit organization. Conducting a campaign is easy and many chiropractors and students are taking Have-A-Heart to community groups, parents groups, health food stores, etc. in order to raise awareness and the needed funds to help more children find health. If you let the let the Oklahaven Children’s Chiropractic Center that you “Have-A-Heart” they will send you: A DVD of the childrens journeys to health that is yours to keep Pamphlets about Oklahaven Children’s Chiropractic Center Hearts to list donor’s name and display in your waiting room, front desk or along the halls to patient rooms Information sheets with details and deadlines for the campaign A press release to announce your participation The center asks participants to: Show the DVD as its an excellent tool for public education, community groups, health food stores, etc. Ask everyone to sponsor a heart by giving a gift and writing their name on a heart to be displayed Collect money donated Keep a log of who donates and the amount. We will thank them Send us your final report detailing your office’s success Achieve the Golden Heart – the giver of life! The prestigious award given to the college and whoever sells the most hearts The video educates patients about the benefits of chiropractic for children and about success stories of the more severely challenged children. Pets are newest patients for chiropractors

The practice has not been completely accepted by the chiropractic and veterinary disciplines, however. The American Animal Hospital Association and American Association of Feline Practitioners caution that chiropractic methods can potentially cause injury if inappropriate technique or excessive force is used. “Currently, there are no clear standards for when chiropractic intervention should be applied or who is qualified to use chiropractic manipulations,” the groups wrote in its pain management guide for pets. Dr. Lorenzetti said he understands those concerns. He stressed chiropractic care is not meant to replace veterinary care. He only treats animals who have been referred and cleared to see him by a veterinarian. The cost of treatments ranges from $45 to $65 per visit for house pets and $75 to $125 for horses. All visits take place at the owner’s home or a veterinarian’s office, he said.
